How to Get Rid of Love Handles

Valentine’s Day 2009 is now behind us. If you’re like a lot of Americans, maybe you shared the holiday with your significant other and … your love handles. If so, there’s no better time than now to get up and do something about the bulge around your waste, the handles of love that no one really wants. While it can be done sooner, if you set next Valentine’s Day as your target date to get rid of your love handles, the task won’t seem as insurmountable.
How to do it, though? The truth is, the fat around the stomach that accumulates into the aptly named “love handles” is usually the last to leave when you lose weight. There are things you can do though to increase your weight loss in this area, to effectively start eliminating your love handles once and for all. And no, it has nothing to do with Cupid shooting an arrow into your love handles, don’t worry.
There are two major things that are going to help you on your quest to lose your love handles before Valentine’s Day 2010 – a smart, healthy diet and plenty of targeted exercise. It sounds simple, and it is, but those two things are really hard for some people to acknowledge and stick to after devising a plan.
Eating healthy makes sure your body is getting exactly what it needs to perform at its best every day. The better your body processes the food you eat, the easier it’s going to be to eliminate stomach fat – especially your love handles. The other good thing is that once you’ve lost the weight, if you continue eating healthy, you won’t regain the love handles soon after losing them. This happens to a lot of people, leading to discouragement.
Exercise doesn’t have to be something you dread. In fact, once your body gets accustomed to it, you’ll find that your body will crave exercise, the feelings it gets when you exercise. You’ll want to start off slow with a sensible exercise routine (check with your doctor), but you can gradually add more exercise to the routine week after week. Before you know it, exercise will be a daily part of life.
These are just two small ideas, but if you come up with a plan and stick to it, before no time you’ll be able to say goodbye to your love handles once and for all. And with them gone, you’ll feel better about yourself, which can go a long way in making your life more enjoyable. Love handles may have been your biggest foe in the past, but by sticking to the basics, you can get results.
If you can’t do it on your own, or don’t know where to start, there are others who have done the work already. There’s nothing wrong for asking for help or getting help to lose love handles. As long as you get rid of the love handles, what does it matter if you got some help? Sometimes, a little help goes a long way in making you successful.
